Simply Blue Birthmark Resin Handmade Rollerball Chrome/Gold

Fans of literature will recognize the "Birthmark" in this Simply Blue Resin pen.  This solid blue iridescent pen has a small swirl of a "defect" in the lower body of the pen.  This reminded us of the short story titled The Birthmark by Nathaniel Hawthorne, in which a doctor who is obsessed with perfection tries to remove a small imperfection from his wife's face, only to kill her as a result.  Since the little swirl on this pen is under the finish, to remove it would also kill the pen, so we immediately thought of the parallel.  So, this pen is perfect in every way, but has a little swirl of resin that reminds all that we cannot achieve perfection.  Perfect!

Spectacular iridescence color in this Simply Blue Birthmark resin Rollerball pen.  The depth of the Simply Blue resin is quite iridescent.  This is a great looking handcrafted pen made from a handmade resin.  It has a spectacular color and is certain to please, finished to a mirror polish. All external components are finished with a chrome plating with gold colored accents which will provide long service. This is a rollerball (not ballpoint) pen which has a separate cap to cover the pen. The pen is very stylish and shows well in all lighting conditions. The pen will make a memorable gift for any occasion, such as a Birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, Graduation Day, Bosses or Secretaries Day.

The pen is constructed first by hand selecting each piece of wood and then turning the pen to final shape. The pen is then sanded 7 times with progressively finer grits (180, 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1200) of sandpaper to create a very smooth surface. Multiple coats of finish are applied to protect the wood for years of hard use. The surface is polished to a mirror like shine using 12 polishing steps to create a showroom quality finish.

Comes with choice of ink color (blue or black) and a velvet drawstring pen sleeve. Replacement ink cartridges can easily be found at most drugstores and office supply stores. You'll also receive a Certificate of Authenticity with each pen ordered.  Product dimensions are the size of the pen inside its box.

The pen in the picture is the one you will receive. If you are interested in multiple pens, please contact us. Since each pen is a unique work of art, exact duplicates are not possible. But, we will do our best to create duplicates of the pen, using the same wood and finish.
